34 Weeks

Well, I can't believe we have under 6 weeks and counting already with this little girl.  I get excited when I think about the time left, but at the same time I don't know how I am going to make it another six weeks.  The leg cramps, constant back pain, indigestion, and the lack of sleep that I experienced with Dallin only arrived around week 38.  This time around this whole last trimester has been miserable.  All this discomfort in combination with all the decisions and preparations we still need to make for her arrival is a bit overwhelming.  I know I am sounding a little depressing with this post, but my feelings really are bitter sweet at this point.
I have been thinking all along that I was so much bigger with this second pregnancy than with the first because of how I was feeling.  Now I know I wasn't just imagining it because after going to the doctor this week, I am measuring 2 weeks bigger.  And also when I go out in public peoples' jaws drop when I tell them I still have 6 weeks left. (The jaws have been dropping since I was 32 weeks though.) They can't imagine how I could get any bigger.  It's a good thing their comments don't bother me.  We just want a strong and healthy baby.

Baby Shower

My baby shower was on Saturday, and I can definitely say that I am feeling a little better about our new baby girl coming in a few weeks.  Scott was surprised when I brought everything home, especially that everything was PINK!!  Everything from onesies to tutus to a new bouncy seat.  This is just a glimpse of  what I brought home from the shower.

We had such a fun time playing games to try and come up with a name for the baby plus the food and company was the best!!!  It was nice that my mom was able to come for a visit and be here for it and Scott and Dallin really enjoyed their guys day.  I want to give a huge thanks to Sara, Amanda and Bunni who hosted and helped with my shower.  They are the greatest, and I am so grateful that they made it such a special day to celebrate our little one on the way.

Feeling Better and Sewing

I am happy to report that everyone is feeling better.  No more sinus infections or bronchitis in this house and all medications have been taken.  On the days that Scott was home he would get up with Dallin and allow me to sleep in.  This is usually how I would find them when I came down stairs.  I love my boys!!
I am so glad to be feeling better and able to get some things done, especially for our little girl who is on the way.  Only 8 more weeks, and I have so much to get ready before she arrives.  Here is what I have been working on.  I am still learning and getting used to my sewing machine, so I have kept the projects fairly simple with bibs and burp cloths.  I fellin love with this fabric and thought it was fun to do them reversible.
Then the purple ones I decided to get a little more daring and try the flowers with the coordinating fabric on the bibs.  Don't look closely because they are a little messy, but for the most part they turned out okay.  I just have to add the snaps to the bibs and wash them when I get some baby detergent and they will have the fun frayed edges.

It was fun shopping for the material and making something for our new baby.  At least now I have some girl stuff for when she arrives.  I ended up with 6 bibs and 7 burp cloths.  My baby shower is this weekend, so I am excited to get more girly stuff and then assess what else I need and what else I can make.  I think blankets are on the agenda next or maybe headbands and other accessories.

Dallin Playing the Wii

This video was taken awhile ago when Dallin first started, but we have had trouble loading it.  One of Dallin's new favorite things is playing the Wii.  With all the snow and bad weather this winter it has been nice that he has been able to have something to play inside. Books and movies only work for entertainment for so long.

He started out playing the sword game like in the video.  Now, he can also play frisbee, bowling and table tennis.  The more he plays it the better he gets because he understands what is going on.
