Our Baby Girl Is Here!!

We welcomed Daphnee Beth into our family at 3:34 p.m. on Wednesday April 27th.  She was 8 pounds 15 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long.  Labor was about 6 hours long and she came very easily.

Soon after she was born it was recommended that she be flown to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT to repair part of her urinary tract.  She arrived in Utah Wednesday night and had surgery Thursday morning.  Everything went well and we have been able to see her and take care of her after surgery.  She will be staying in the NICU for about 10 days.

We are all doing great and will post more details later.

Early Easter

We celebrated Easter early this year the week before with Scott's family in Utah.  We had a wonderful yummy dinner and an easter egg hunt with all the kids.  The weather was great and it was nice to be able to visit with family.

Yesterday on Easter we went to our new ward and had a simple ham dinner here at home.  We spent the rest of the weekend playing with Dallin, visiting some friends in Rexburg, eating at my favorite Chinese restaurant Fong's, and making the final preparations before going into the hospital tomorrow for the arrival of our baby girl.  Tonight will be our last night here at home with just the three of us.

Baby Coming Next Week!!

After a doctor's visit on this past Monday and an ultrasound on Tuesday which led to another visit from the doctor on Tuesday we finally know when this little girl will be coming.  Baby girl is measuring on the bigger side so we will be going into the hospital on Tuesday night (April 26th) to start the induction.  We think she will probably arrive on Wednesday.

Having a scheduled day kind of takes away the surprise of when baby will be coming, but having a date is still exciting and gives us something to look forward to.  We will post pictures and share the news as soon as we get home from the hospital next week.

37 Weeks

We are getting so close now that I sometimes want to start counting down in days instead of weeks.  Everyone has been asking how much longer I have and they just can't believe how I could get any bigger.  I got asked at the DMV this week if I was having twins.  That was a first!!

We're not in Kansas Anymore...

Alright as promised I am posting about why our life has been full of craziness lately.  We just moved from Kansas back to Pocatello, Idaho.  We had be throwing around the idea of moving for 2 months, but we didn't want to make such a big move without exploring other options.  So we were living in limbo for those months while we tried to figure out what was best.

We found out some news about jobs Scott had applied for on a Thursday morning and by Saturday night we were all packed up and on our way back west.  We didn't want to waste anymore time in Kansas if that wasn't where we were supposed to live because we are literally counting down the days til baby girl comes.
Yes, we did just move from Idaho less than a year ago and moved back across the country with a 2 year old and  a very very pregnant woman.  The trip went well as long as we stopped every couple of hours and let me walk around the truck.  We stayed in Utah with family for a couple of days while we looked for an apartment.  I am happy to say we are in our new place in Idaho all unpacked and ready for the arrival of our baby girl.

Why did we move back?  Things didn't work out as we had hoped with Scott's job in Kansas City, so we took the opportunity to reevaluate our family plans for the future.  We decided that it would be best for Scott to go back to school and pursue a Masters in Occupational Therapy.  He got accepted to ISU and will be taking 2 semesters of pre-requisites (since OT is very different than Construction Management) and then applying to the OT Program in January.

Birthdays

Scott and I both celebrated our birthdays these past couple of weeks.  Scott's is at the end of March and mine at the beginning of April with only 2 weeks separating them (and Dallin's half birthday splitting the middle of the 2 weeks) so for some reason I always remember that too.  Our lives have been crazy and a little stressful lately (story to come soon) but we still wanted to do something simple for our birthdays this year.

We were visiting my family over Scott's birthday and we were visiting Scott's family over my birthday which was kind of funny.  We took each other out to dinner/lunch while family members watched Dallin and then had cake and ice cream with family.  We didn't really exchange gifts this year but dinner and cake is about all the excitement I could handle with everything else going on at this time and being due in just a few weeks.

Hoping to post some more belly pictures soon.
