Gaining Weight

Daphnee had another doctor's visit today and she is a whopping 9 pounds 7 ounces.  I know she was only 8 ounces more than that when she was born, but she gained 7 of those ounces back in 10 days since her last pediatrician check up.

We only have 2 more weeks left with the straps on her legs!!  WooHoo!!  It's hard to believe its been a month since her surgery.  I am so sick of those dang straps and I know she definitely is tired of having her legs pulled together.  Every diaper change is a challenge and getting her in a comfortable position to feed her has been difficult. (That's why we are so excited about the weight gain.)  Can you imagine trying to have a bowel movement with your legs strapped together?!?!?  Just saying....
The next post will be about Dallin!!

Welcome Home Baby Daphnee!!

We are so glad to be home from the hospital.  Daphnee is doing wonderful.  We have a follow up with her pediatrician here in Idaho tomorrow and then a 3 week and 6 week check up with the Urology doctors in SLC, but for now we get to take care of our baby here at home.
It was so nice to place Daphnee in her bed for the first time when we got home, and she sleeps so much better.  She doesn't have multiple doctors and nurses coming in to wake her up and doesn't have three other crying babies in the room.
Dallin loves to hold her and look at her.  He will go into our room, peek in her bed and just stare at her forever.  He is so soft with her and already is such a big helper.  Daphnee is lucky to have him as a big brother.

10 Days Old

We are happy to report that baby Daphnee is doing well.  Her recovery is going really well and we have just been getting her to eat and gain weight before we can bring her home in a few days.  Because of the surgery she has to have straps on her legs so that everything can continue to heal properly.  So we have a special car bed that we will be transporting her home in.

I will be getting the best Mother's Day present when we get to take her home and enjoy some time at home as a family.
