Fruits of our Labor

We picked our first zucchini and chilli peppers from our garden this week. You can see that the zucchini got away from us while we were on vacation, but it was still very tasty. There are about 10 more that will be ready to pick in a few days.

Scott was really itching to make some salsa to find out how hot the peppers were, so he whipped up a batch last night. I'm not sure if he could recreate his recipe because he didn't measure anything, but it turned out really yummy!! He made his salsa using tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, cilantro, lemon and lime juice, and a little salt and pepper. We shared some with our landlord and he really enjoyed it as well.

Our first couple rows of corn are taller than Scott and the other rows are not far behind. I'm really glad we decided to plant a garden this year. It's been fun watching it grow and even better now that we are able to enjoy the blessings of our hard work.

8 Weeks left!!

Can you believe it?!?! Only 2 more months to go before our little bundle of joy arrives. We are so excited for him to come. It's been fun to watch as Scott likes to push on my belly and the baby will respond by pushing right back. I think he is going to take after his dad in a lot of ways. :)

Time for a trim

My hair was getting really long and thick, so I decided it was time to get it cut before we left for our trip to Minnesota. I can't remember the last time my hair was this long. It was just getting to hard for me to manage.

Nothing drastic just a good trim. I only cut off a few inches of the length and kept it with long layers.

4th of July

Well, we finally got our pictures organized and decided to let you know how our 4th of July went. Scott got up early and went shooting with some buddies. Then we went to the parade here in Rexburg. We had front row seats with the exception of the kids running in front of us to pick up all the candy. Aimee managed to snap a few pictures around the kids.

Then it was beginning to heat up nicely so we decided to go swimming. Scott really enjoyed this because he never passes up the opportunity to get wet especially in the river with a diving board. A few hours in the sun and we decided to get cleaned up and have a BBQ with some friends. We packed everything up and went to Menan (a nearby small town). We stuffed ourselves and played the waiting game until it got dark. Then we watched the fireworks. We were so close some of them looked like they filled the whole sky. They aren't the best pictures but, I'm sure you all watched your own show wherever you are.

Then when we got home Scott still hadn't had enough noise and fireworks so he decided to light some of his own bottle rockets and roman candles. He even managed to hit our mailbox with the roman candle...haha!!!

We hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day!!!!

Belly Update!!

Here I am at 29 weeks!! Even though I feel huge the doctor said that my belly is measuring right on schedule. I thought the baby was really active before, but it seems like he is doing somersaults in my belly all the time. Scott gets a kick out of watching my belly now that you can see it move when the baby kicks.
